The parking area, indicated in green below, will close on October 9 in preparation for a ground breaking event for Lassonde Studios on October 10. Late on Sunday, October 12, construction gates will be locked and site preparation and construction will begin on the building which will be located to the south and east of the Tanner Humanities Center. Approximately 300 parking stalls will be eliminated beginning October 13 and will remain unavailable for the duration of the project.
See the image below for parking impacts and fencing perimeters during construction.
The Lassonde Studios will be the home for student entrepreneurs and innovators at the University of Utah. The new facility will be the place where students from any major or background can “Live. Create. Launch.” The building will combine about 400 residences with a 20,000-square-foot “garage,” where students can connect, test ideas, build prototypes, launch companies and learn by doing. The building and diverse engagement opportunities will be managed by the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute, a division of the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. Once complete, there will be as many parking stalls in the area as there were prior to construction. Learn more at www.lassonde.utah.edu/studios.
