Plant Operations
Simply stated, we are here to support the academic and research mission of the University of Utah by providing the best level of support possible for facilities on campus.
Primary Support for Campus Buildings
We provide primary support for all campus facilities operated through funding provided by the State of Utah.
Auxiliary Support forRelated Service Facilities
We also stand ready to help facilities support personnel in facilities which generate their own sources of revenue, such as University Student Apartments, Residential Living at Heritage Commons, University Hospital, the Bookstore, the A. Ray Olpin Student Union, etc.
Utility Service
We also shoulder the awesome responsibility of providing reliable utility services to the entire campus community. This requires us to operate and maintaining complex distribution systems, such as those associated with high-voltage electric distribution, high-temperature hot water, potable water, sewer, gas, steam, etc.
