About This Project:

Huntsman Cancer Institute Huntsman Cancer Institute

The Huntsman Cancer Institute is expanding its research capabilities in Family and Pediatric cancer research. The research expansion will be 220,000 square feet and house 35 new research teams.  The expansion will increase HCI’s cutting-edge cancer research capabilities. The Huntsman Cancer Institute’s goal is to provide opportunity for collaboration between scientists and promote interaction with clinical staff determining patient needs in the advancement of treatment techniques. A unique feature is the size of the open laboratories that allows the research teams a fluid and agile design to best address emerging and changing cancer questions vital to advancing cancer care. Visual sight lines from adjacent clinic and research areas are maximized to allow interaction with others in all areas of the cancer campus. Principal funders of this project are the Huntsman Cancer Foundation, the Jon M. Huntsman family, Intermountain Healthcare, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the State of Utah, and thousands of additional donors.
